More than 300 years ago, a ship sailing from exotic Madagascar Island to the colonies of America brought a new and wonderful food to the new World - Indica Rice. Two centuries later, "Gold Rush" pioneers took this very same rice with them to Sacramento, California, where the first Japanese immigrants were raising the Japonica Rice. This blending of cultures resulted in a distinctive mixture of the two types of rice. High in fiber and low in calories, this delicious hybrid came to be appreciated the world over.

However, the "Journey to the Rice Road" was only beginning. Many generations later, a Japanese businessman who dreamed of bringing the world wholesome tasty foods, traveled across the continents sampling the finest cuisine imaginable. To his amazement, he realized that nowhere did he find a food more satisfying than the rice that had nurtured him during his childhood. He set about creating delectable sauces that would compliment his most favored food, and so, the taste-tempting sauces of The Rice Road were born for all those who journey on The Road to Better Health!
